Marking Time is a site specific work for Art After Dark at Cube 37 gallery at the Frankston Arts Centre. It played continuously from dusk until dawn between 15th August and 11th September 2016.

Marking Time creates the illusion of large scale industry occurring within the building. A scan line on the image plane intermittently disrupts this illusion.
The work is a comment on our hesitation to respond to environmental concerns despite our knowledge and capacity to change. It is part of our recent enquiry into site specific illusionary works that incorporate traditional and physics engine animation. Marking Time was made with Illustrator and After Effects with Newton 2.0. The installation itself consists of a PC (running Watchout), 3 projectors and a sound system.
