In 2003 we were commissioned by the Melbourne International Film Festival to create "The Modern Compendium of Miniature Automata". The work was designed to be a stand alone work but also function as an online/email campaign to promote the upcoming festival.

Our friend and colleague Dave Jones (Transience) did the coding and Stephen Joyce did the writing. The project was online for a number of years and was also exhibited within a number of galleries. It received the award for Best Use of Multimedia at FIFI (International Internet Film Festival) in Paris. A number of spin-off linear works were derived from the original piece which have also been exhibited at a number of festivals and galleries including; Cinematics.05 (Belgium), Re-planted (PICA, Perth) and 'Infinite Empire' (CAST Gallery, Hobart).
